About Us

Arthurs was formed in 1923 and originally traded as J.P. Arthur & Sons. The business grew steadily and in 1939 became a limited company, the name of which is still used today, and was appointed as the Vauxhall dealer covering Oswestry and the surrounding area.

The present owners purchased the business from the Arthur family in 1979, continuing its independence under family ownership.

Arthurs has grown substantially since 1979 and moved to its current premises in Lower Brook Street Oswestry in 1993 where it has continued to grow ever since.

In October 2006 Arthurs took over the existing Vauxhall dealership in Newtown, now known as Arthurs of Newtown, thereby extending the Company’s presence from Shropshire through to mid Wales.

Managing Director, Nigel Williams, believes the cornerstone of the business’ continuing success has been the emphasis on customer care allied to the loyalty of the staff, many of whom have been with the business for more than 20 years.

As well as selling the full range of Vauxhall cars both dealerships also service vehicles and carry a large stock of parts. The Oswestry site has a Vauxhall Approved Accident Repair Centre.

A large selection of Network Q used cars is always available in both Oswestry and Newtown.
